My honey and I were visiting Montecito for my niece’s wedding recently and had the good fortune to eat at Jeannine’s Restaurant and Bakery. To say their french toast is good would be like saying Van Gogh had some nice paintings. This place has french toast like no other!

Their Kahlua Banana French Toast on authentic challah bread with sliced bananas that have been sauted in Kahlua and then drizzled with melted butter combined with brown sugar is a-m-a-z-i-n-g! My mouth is watering at the memory of it.

Jeannine’s offers other tasty treats as well. My husband went for a healthier choice of granola with milk that he enjoyed (not as much as I enjoyed mine, I dare say). The atmosphere is also very good — trendy yet homey. It is quite a popular spot so be prepared for a line. However, the line moves fairly quickly so don’t be daunted by it. Their highly efficient hostess will be sure to find you a table. It was amazing watching her balance the seating requests of all the guests. She expertly worked it so that everyone got what they wanted…or very close to it.

I cannot recommend this place highly enough. You must make a visit if you are anywhere near the area and try their french toast. It will not disappoint.
