Facial with Martinis by the Beach

MarilynPorch1Pampering is probably one of my favorite pastimes. I love to get pampered as well as treat others to some pampering. It is such a cathartic experience, having someone whose sole purpose is to make you feel relaxed and coddled for whatever amount of time you have scheduled. In the quaint ocean side town of El Segundo (really it’s like what Mayberry must have been) lies a salon that delivers just such splendor, Advanced Skin Care by Marilyn.

MarilynFrontDoor1Marilyn Martinis is the owner and, yes, I do always have a strange desire for a drink when I visit her (go figure!). Her cottage (or salon as she likes to call it) is on the backside of a brick-faced building that sits along a tree-lined street. You walk through a side garden to an open porch that welcomes you to her studio. Inside she has music playing and, on cooler days, her fireplace going. The salon is small (really just one room) which lends itself to the intimate feeling Marilyn has created.

MarilynOffice1Marilyn’s skills are top-notch having honed her craft at spas and dermatology offices in Toronto and Beverly Hills before opening her own retreat in El Segundo. Hers is one of the few salons to offer the Intraceuticals Oxygen Facial that restores vitality to your skin and puts me to sleep every time I get it. That is another wonderful thing about Marilyn, she doesn’t mind the snoring and twitching I do when I have fallen asleep during one of her procedures. She claims it is a compliment (gotta love that!). Marilyn offers more than just a wonderful facial. She truly cares about you and your skin needs and works with you to achieve your greatest skin results.  I highly recommend a visit to Advanced Skin Care by Marilyn. Once you go, you will be hooked!

  1. I have to admit, Intraceuticals has actually made a difference in my skin. I think this is my third week without makeup. Maybe I’ll pay this Marilyn a visit in the quant town they call “El Segundo”…
